Principal Contractor for whole of Phase 1 infrastructure, Countesswells
The remit for this project was far-ranging, as W M Donald was invited to be the principal contractor. This project will bring 3,000 homes across 407 acres to the West of Aberdeen City.
Key elements of this project were:
- Site clearance, safety fencing and establishment
- Bulk earthworks and site preparation
- Installation of adoptable sewer, associated manholes and waste water pumping station
- Temporary and adoptable surface water suds basins and surface water management
- Construction of adoptable roads, footpaths and associated street lighting
- Installation of drainage culverts, headwalls and pedestrian footbridges
- Installation of utilities / services on site
- Off-site installation of utilities, rising main and associated reinstatement works
- High quality hard landscaping
- Traffic management during construction on a key route for commuters
