Pre-Survey of Multiple Brownfield Sites for Social Housing Developments in Fife
The W M Donald team was contracted by Robertson Partnership Homes to pre-survey multiple Brownfield sites earmarked for social housing developments in Fife. We initially used the high pressure water jet before carrying out a CCTV survey of the drainage systems following demolition of the existing buildings. We then carried out ground penetrating radar surveys to identify any utilities left underground before carrying out a site survey and supplying the client with a CAD drawing of the site.
Key elements of this project were:
- Visually tracing the remains of the drainage system following the demolition
- Locating the buried manholes with metal detector
- Excavate and expose manholes prior to High pressure water jetting with Jet vac
- Remove waste from heavily contaminated sewers
- CCTV survey the sewers following jetting
- Plot existing and other buried manholes
- Carry out GRP survey of the site to identify the drainage system and all other live and redundant utilities
- Provide a CAD drawing of the site drainage and utilities to assist with the design of the new development of the site
