W M Donald Ltd requires an experienced Class 1 lorry driver to support our civil engineering operations across northern Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
To supervise all loading and unloading of your vehicle to ensure that safe working practices are used.
Before proceeding on any journey, to ensure that all loads are secured and safe and they do not exceed the maximum weight of the vehicle.
To inspect all uplifted material to detect any obvious damage and/or whether the order requirements are satisfied.
To excavate and backfill tracks in accordance with the client specification.
To take all necessary precautions to avoid damaging above and underground utilities.
To operate your plant in a safe and legal manner at all times this includes adhering to national speed limits. Should your plant become unsafe, you are to cease operations immediately. You are also responsible for directing other workers and members of the public when you are working.
To carry out routine maintenance and inspection of plant.
To assist other team members, as directed by the foreman-ganger and contracts manager.
To ensure that the vehicle is made available for servicing when recalled by the plant manager.
To report any vehicle defect, small plant, tools and equipment including those with an expired calibration or PAT date. immediately to the foreman-ganger, contracts manager or plant manager
The timely completion of all necessary documentation associated with the job function.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Current Class 1 driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Substantial experience in commercial vehicle operation
- Immediate availability for employment start
