W M Donald has successfully completed its first project with Caledonia Water Alliance in the Tayside region, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion.
The project, located near the Inveralmond Roundabout in Perth, involved installing over 700 meters of Aquaspira pipework along the busy A9 corridor.

Overcoming Challenges Through Collaboration
This project presented unique challenges due to its proximity to critical infrastructure and a dense network of underground services. W M Donald’s success was the result of detailed planning, precise service searches, and innovative use of its in-house suction excavator, which allowed excavation without disrupting existing services. Site Supervisor Tam Sangster noted, “This was one of the most challenging starts I’ve encountered. The intricate network of services and tough ground conditions required significant collaboration across teams to ensure a successful outcome.”
The Role of Strategic Partnerships
A strong partnership with Aquaspira played a pivotal role in the project’s success. The supplier ensured timely delivery of materials and provided technical support throughout. Mark Stanway of Aquaspira commended the seamless collaboration, demonstrating how strategic supplier relationships help overcome complex challenges.
Expanding Tayside Operations
This milestone highlights W M Donald’s growing capability in delivering complex infrastructure solutions under demanding conditions. It reflects the company’s technical expertise, commitment to safety, and ability to execute high-quality civil engineering projects. The success of this project strengthens W M Donald’s reputation in the Tayside region and sets the stage for future opportunities. The company extends its gratitude to all team members and partners whose efforts made this achievement possible.
