The W M Donald Utilities team recently completed a significant infrastructure project for Morrison Energy Services, delivering an 8.5km section of 250mm and 180mm intermediate pressure (IP) gas mains along the B898.

The route extended from the A9 junction to Logierait TRS and required intricate planning, seamless collaboration, and robust execution.
The project scope encompassed excavation, mains laying, testing, backfilling, reinstatement, and six horizontal directional drills (HDDs). Conducting these works under a road closure added complexity, as maintaining strong communication with local residents and landowners was vital to minimise disruption. The team’s proactive engagement ensured a smooth delivery process and upheld W M Donald’s commitment to maintaining positive stakeholder relations.

Delivered ahead of schedule and within budget, the project reflects the dedication and expertise of the site team, alongside the collaborative working approach fostered by Morrison Energy Services. A key contributor to the success was the invaluable support of subcontractors and the supply chain, notable R A Laird, who not only provided services but also owned land adjacent to the pipeline route.
This achievement highlights our capability to manage challenging civil engineering projects while prioritising safety, efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction. By leveraging teamwork, innovative solutions, and industry partnerships, W M Donald continues to set a high standard for infrastructure delivery, demonstrating the value of collaboration in achieving exceptional results.
