  Charity Ball
In May, W M Donald was Platinum Sponsors of the Befriend a Child Carnival Ball held at The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen. It was the first time W M Donald had worked with the charity. Willie had the honour of giving a speech at the event.
Befriend a Child is a charity which supports children and young children living in difficult life circumstances. It does this through one-to-one and group befriending and mentoring. If you would like to volunteer to be a befriender or mentor then please visit www.befriendachild.org.uk.
   Burns Supper
In March, The Archie Foundation held its annual Burns Supper at The Chester Hotel. Normally held on January 25th, this year’s celebration had been delayed by Covid. W M Donald had a table at the event.
The Archie Foundation operates across Grampian, Tayside and the Highlands. It
works to make a difference in healthcare
and bereavement for local children and their families. The Oor Wullie figure that sits outside W M Donald’s head office came from one of The Archie Foundation’s fundraising campaigns.
You can find out more about The Archie Foundation at www.archie.org
Perth Races
On 12th May a group of ten W M Donald ‘fillies’ graced Ladies Day at Perth Races. A good time was had by all.
Highland Heroes
Highland Heroes celebrates the achievements of students, teachers, carers, volunteers, fundraisers and more. This year’s event was held at Kingsmill Hotel in March. W M Donald sponsored the ‘Charitable Organisation of the Year’ award. Kris Brown, a Contracts Manager from W M Donald’s Inverness office, was on hand to present the award to the winning charity, Mikeysline.
Mikeysline provides face-to-face and text-based support for people of all ages struggling to cope. It was started back in 2015 after the tragic deaths of close friends Martin Shaw and Michael Williamson.

WKC Scottish Open
In April, W M Donald sponsored the WKC Scottish Open held at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow. WKC stands for the World Karate and Kickboxing Council. The awards podium was bedecked with W M Donald banners.
The podium was well used. There were categories from novice (0-10) to Veterans (35+) in a variety of disciplines. One of the disciplines is kata. Kata is a detailed choreographed pattern of martial arts movements practiced alone (or in groups whilst training).
The local kickboxing club in Stonehaven is the Lion’s Den Martial Arts Academy. To find more visit www.lionsdentckmma.com.
Chapelton of Elsick
W M Donald is continuing its support of the Chapelton of Elsick 10k run by being the medal sponsor. All the monies raised go to local charities and community groups.
